"Freedom and Sound - this time it's personal" is an essay I was asked to contribute to a collection of musicians' thoughts on improvisation. It was originally published (in German translation) in "Aspekte der Freien Improvisation in der Musik" in 2011. Later it was published in French in "Le Son du Grisli, and appeared on "Point of Departure".
This illustrated PDF collects the English, French and German versions.

For musical relief I've included three live solo tracks:

Molenbeek Ritual was previously included on the 2019 fund-raising album (Doors into Ocean) for The Hundred Year Gallery.

High and Low Salt(s) were originally released on the 2012 fundraising CD (missing nothing) for Bang the Bore.
